An over-extended Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (PSPCA) contacted nonifarm for assistance with a particularly difficult case--Champ, an elderly emaciated gelding.
PSPCA, the United State's largest equine rescuer, is overwhelmed with large farm animals. A single recent case of animal abuse and neglect has resulted in the PSPCA confiscating more than 100 additional animals. For Champ, the PSPCA thought of nonifarm and our mission. Champ appears to be in overall good health aside from being a few hundred pounds underweight. Unfortunately, at his age, Champ's chances of finding your typical forever home are naught. That's where nonifarm comes in. |
Please consider making a donation to help us give Champ his forever nonifarm home.
As an organization, nonifarm has been taking it slow and recently added Eli, an elderly therapeutic riding horse deserving of a nonifarm retirement after a decade of dedication to servicing others. But now Champ is a special case. We are hoping to bring him to nonifarm as soon as possible. The PSPCA is past capacity and being pushed to place horses with other rescues, but they know it is too much stress to bounce an elderly horse around to several different locations before finding him a permanent option. We want to save Champ from the additional injustice. Nonifarm, Inc., is a registered Maryland nonprofit charity. With 501(c)(3) status, donations are tax deductible. Please consult with your tax professional regarding any questions about the deduction(s). For tax purposes, our EIN is: 82-1020948. |
Our goal of $2,500 reflects the immediate need for assistance with bringing Champ to nonifarm, and also the decade or more commitment nonifarm makes toward meeting all obligations with respect to the horse. nonifarm is solely responsible for the horse’s care and expenses, including but not limited to costly geriatric veterinary care, critical medications for chronic conditions, farrier/hoof care, the special nutritional needs of our senior herd, and the significant expense involved in saying our final goodbye. Each additional horse nonifarm homes is a major multi-year commitment, which we do not enter into lightly. It is only possible with the generous support we continue to receive from our donors.
